Multiple UoM in CCO from B1

Hello all!

We have a requirement to support multiple units of measurement in CCO, which are configured in B1. This is supported, but we only found one single way to invoice a different UoM than the standard one, and that is scanning the barcode of the additional UoM. The additional UoMs do not show up at all in item searches and I have not found a function that allows me to choose from the different UoMs after an article was selected. Is there a way to manually select a specific UoM?

Thanks in advance!

Joerg.

PS: There is no visual indication at all about which UoM is being invoiced, as you can see here (the same item with 3 different UoMs):

Also, the invoice printing also does not indicate the correct UoM that was used, but I will report this as an incident separately:

As documented in note 2694514, manual choosing of another unit of measurement is currently not possible.

If you consider this option useful, please vote for it here: https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/246725

Thanks and stay safe!

Hello SAP Community!

This is a late update, but as I needed to go into this topic, I will let you know what I did, as it may be helpful to someone else.

I assigned a barcode to each UoM needed, after that in the quick selection I created a button pointing to an external ID and inserted the barcode in that field. Witth this option, you can have a button directly to that product in a specific UoM.

You can even create a submenu structure that when you click the button of product open a tab to select the UoM of the article with buttons pointing to each UoM barcode.

Hello Tiago,

Thanks for your idea. However, we are already upgrading to FP14 now, which has provided this new functionality out-of-the box.

Best regards,

Joerg.

Hello Joerg,

Thank you for your response. It is great to know that this functionality will available natively, on the newest version of SAP CCO!

Best regards,

Hello joerg.ceo,

Thanks. You are right - as of now Barcode is the only way.

Hello joerg.ceo, Hello ruediger.linhart

It is not straight forward. In the Print template the barcode is not known. Hence no easy way to print it.
In Sales Item a link to material is stored. In Sales Item also UNITOFMEASURE is stored.
From Sales Item u can reach Materials, from materials you can reach Barcodes, there will be multiple entry and u can select the entry for your unit of measure. In Barcode table both UoM and Barcode is stored.

So technically possible, however on a personal basis it is not recommended to have business logic in print templates.
I would suggest that you create an improvement proposal in SAP Customer Influence portal.

Hello Bikash,

Thanks for your clarifications. However, in my case I am not interested in printing the barcode, but in printing the correct unit of measurement. If you look at the excerpt from the receipt print you can see that the UoM is printed, but it is the wrong one ("botella"=bottle for all three lines). It is also wrong in the "line position details" function in the UI, by the way. However, internally it is still stored correctly somewhere (I haven't analyzed the database yet), because when the invoice is posted back to B1, it is posted with the correct UoM.

For that display and printing issue, I have opened an incident, because I consider it a bug (254433 / 2020). I will how that incident moves forward and you are welcome to follow up.

As for the original question, I still consider it unanswered: Is there a way to manually select a specific UoM (other than scanning a specific UoM barcode)?

Thanks again and stay safe!

Joerg.

OK, I found the answer in your response to another thread here, which references note 2694514.

For the benefit of other readers: barcode is the only way right now.

I will submit an IR for this since I consider it important.

Thanks!

Joerg.

Hello joerg.ceo, Hello ruediger.linhart

In SAP Customer Checkout Quick Service and Table Service User Interface, you cannot see the barcode that was scanned. Right now also the UoM is not displayed. This screen right now is not configurable.
I will check if this information can be printed or not in a straight forward way and provide an additional answer here.

Have the same problem at a customer, sells crushed stones in tons and m3 - is defined as UoM but not available in CCO - any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hello Rüdiger:

You can choose the secondary UoM by defining a barcode in B1 for the secondary UoM. Then in CCO, enter that "fictitious" barcode using the keyboard and CCO should find the item with its UoM price.

Let me know if that worked. As I said, I haven't found any other way to do it myself.

Regards,

Joerg.
