Merging after CSV Import

Hello experts,

we have a problem with the merge process after a csv import. The Hybris shop transfers the SAP customer number as follows: 00123456789. The zeros are specified as placeholders. With CSV, we enter the customer number without the leading zeros. The SAP Marketing Cloud is now partially merging customers and adding the two zeros:

1234567 (via CSV) + 001234567 (Hybris) --> 001234567 (merged in Marketing Cloud)

However mostly a new contact is created without adding the leading zeros. How can we proceed here so that the contacts are always merged via the CSV import on the basis of the customer number?

Hi Christiane,

I would doublecheck if the data is saved correctly in the CSV.

Especially I would try to avoid using Excel to save the data as CSV. As I can't imagine it is merging for some and for some not... It should be consistent depending on leading zeros or not.

Otherwise it would be an error on SAP side and a Ticket could help.
