Menu option disabled

Hi experts

A simple query: The SMC tenant in a Test environment was delivered by SAP to the client, then, due to contract issues, it was dismantled and delivered again.

The detail is that there is a menu that offers the tool in a standard way but in neither of the two occasions that option is not there, it is the button with horizontal stripes next to the SAP logo.

That is activated in any of the settings?

Also, the first time the tool showed the 4 standard segmentation models, now after reinstallation and there is no Account and Contacts.

Hi Elio,

1. The Business Catalog for Quick Launch (SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_COM_PC) is deprecated with 2011 release. The successor is SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_COM1_PC.

I wasn't aware of that and just noticed right now when you mentioned it, but with that change obiously also the "burger menu" has been removed. I just applied that change to verify it and saw that now with the change of the business catalog the menu button has gone in my system, too.

2. Go to the App "Segmentation Configuration" > Segmentation Profiles > Select the Segmentation Profile of your choice and check if it is enabled for the use in Segmentation Models. If not, enable it and check again. It should be visible now.

Hi Elio,

the so called sidebar navigation was deprecated in 2011 as it is not compatible with the new concept of Spaces / Pages. But there are many other ways to access apps:

- the FLP itself with its groups and tiles

- the Search bar on top (App finder)

- the Home button on the FLP start page

Existing customers can still use the sidebar navigation by adding the SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_COM_PC catalog to their business roles.
