Hi All,
We have an issue where there are two contacts in the system with different S/4 ids although these two records share the same email address.
These records do not merge as because of the difference in S/4 ids.
The issue is that when the customer unsubscribes from the email address using a form (Without UTM parameters) they would expect that their email address would become opt-out.
Unfortunately, this is not the case and due to the conditions above a new record is created and is opted out while the original two records do not change.
Can anyone please provide advice on how to handle permissions management in this scenario.
Thanks in advance.

Hello austrooper,
You can achieve the behavior you're expecting by setting One Per Contact for S/4 Origin = False and EMAIL = True.
In this way you can avoid duplicate contact as well.

Hi Matt,
why don't you configure origin EMAIL as "one per contact" and the S/4-Origin not as "one per contact"? Then it should be possible for the contact to have more than one S/4-IDs but every email-address is unique in the system.
Does that work for you?
