Marketing Cloud unsubscribe

Hi all,

We have a requirement that when the unsubscribe link is clicked in the outbound email it not only unsubscribes from the subscription, but also sets the marketing preferences to opt-out.

I wondered about adding the marketing preferences landing page form to the confirmation URL used on the unsubscribe, but as I understand it this does not enable tracking i.e. having clicked the unsubscribe link the visitor would then need to enter their email address to unsubscribe from emails rather than Marketing being able to pre-fetch the contact details. Am I correct on this?

Has anybody implemented a solution whereby the unsubscribe option (either from the Easy Unsubscribe or the one linked in the Sender Profile) not only opts out of a subscription but also opts-out of marketing preferences for that channel (email)?

Hello Andrew,

Unsubscribe and permission Opt-out is required to work like that!

But you can still submit a detailed idea of improvement to SAP Marketing Cloud so that your idea could be evaluated there.
