Hi everybody,
I have to set up a newsletter campaign and I'm wondering, if it's better to use a one-time or a recurring campaign. The content is gonna change every week. So in case of recurring campaign, I have to pause the campaign and update the content each week. The risk is, that if the customer forget/is too slow, the same e-mail is sent twice. Is there a possibility, to send a reminder to the employee responsible for the content or to automatically stop the campaign if the content have not changed? Are there actually any benefits in terms of reporting and analytics to use a recurring campaign instead of a one-time campaign?
I would like to hear your experience.
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Giorgia

Hi Giorgia ,
As Jef mentioned , Yeah Newsletter campaigns are the typical use case for a Recurring Campaigns.
As Kunal already mentioned , you can check on the Seed list functionality which sends the copy of Email when the campaign flow is executed .
But as you want to stop or pause the campaign before it starts its recurring action and want to send a reminder to the employee responsible for content change , May be as a work around ( Just my idea 🙂 )you can create a parallel recurring campaign to send a reminder before this recurring campaign action starts , may be you can use the advance scheduling options to send the reminder to the content owner at the time you want to remind him , yes of course it requires additional campaign but will reduce the effort of creating an one time campaign each time .
But yeah if you have C4C integrated you can try Jef's idea which is more easier.

Hi Giorgia,
In my opinion it would be better to create a recurring campaign if your campaign is based on a certain trigger. This way requires less manual work. A one-time campaign might also be an option as you can always copy an existing campaign. The benefit would be that you have more control.
To make keep control you could indeed create a task in C4C. Prerequisite would be that you have have integrated your Marketing Cloud system with C4C. The task owner determination can be set up in C4C to pick the employee responsible of the account.
For more information on C4C integration check:-Cloud for customer integration with Marketing Cloud

Hello Giorgia,
Are you aware about the Seed List and Contact for Personalization concept?
I hope this may be helpful in your case, else you need to pause campaign for a new content type each time.
Thank you.
