Marketing Cloud Campaign Replication - Automated Retry After Certain Period Of Time?

Dear Experts,

when an automated campaign (category CME) is started in SAP Marketing Cloud, it gets replicated to our Sales Cloud (via POST to the /CampaignReplicationNotification_Out endpoint).

We developed our own iFlow to replicate also the assigned target group with its members to Sales Cloud, so that Sales can see as an overview which contacts have been contacted in that Marketing Campaign. This iFlow is triggered by the start of the Campaign replication iFlow.

For big target groups it takes a long time until all the members are replicated to Sales Cloud. At the end, by default it seems that Marketing Cloud gets an information (HTTP Status Code) from the iFlow that the campaign has been replicated successfully (or that there was a problem). I can see this in the AIF Monitoring.

The problem we're facing now is: The time for the "feedback" of the iFlow to MC takes too long, so that MC triggers the replication of the campaign again (and with that also the target group replication), so that we get an endless loop on CPI because the next iFlow takes the same time again and so on...

Does anyone know if this is the usual system behavior? Is our analysis correct that there is an automated "Retry" of MC if there's no response from CPI for a certain time after an iFlow is triggered? If so, can we anyhow influence the time that MC waits for that retry of sending the campaign? It seems like it starts again after about 15 minutes.
