Loyalty Coupons

Hello all,

I would like to understand if the following a possible scenario using loyalty coupons since we haven't been able to properly configure this:

The customer has preestablished discounts that can be exchanged for loyalty points. (The loyalty points cannot be exchanged for cash.) For example, for 250 points, the customer gets a 10% discount on the full invoice. For 500 points, he gets a 15% discount on the full invoice.

The problem we have is that we don't know how to properly create an instance ID for this type of coupon:

  • From CCO (not from the manager or an external App), and
  • How to discount the loyalty points according to the coupon the customer want's applied

The closest we have gotten so far as to a workaround is:

  • Use a discount coupon to avoid instance ID requirement
  • Set value of loyalty points to 0 in configuration
  • Apply the consumed loyalty points to the receipt (manually, and worth 0 due to the point above) in order to deduct the balance from the customer's loyalty account

Since the third step is really dependent on the user, we fear a lot of human mistakes. So the question is, is there a better way to accomplish this scenario?

Thanks in advance,

Joerg.
