The Cloud Portal Logs page mentions about "OpenSearch Disk Capacity" and "Net Availability Capacity".

1) What is the difference between these two?

2) I want to know the maximum size of the Kibana logs. What capacity does this refer to? OpenSearch Disk Capacity or Net Availability Capacity?

For Question #1, I do not know the answer. I assume this is the total capacity of the OpenSearch or Logging service and that "Net Availability Capacity" is just a subset of "OpenSearch Disk Capacity".

For Question #2, SAP KBA 3446887 (Retention Policy for Logs in OpenSearch and Blob Storage) partially clarifies this. The answer is more or less "Net Availability Capacity". Excerpt from SAP KBA:

  • The logs are achieving the maximum space determined on retention policy.
    • For Production and Stage environments: 200GB space for logs (+ 200Gb for replicas) with 75% retention policy, which gives about 150Gb of space for logs.
    • For Development environments: 150GB space for logs (+ 150Gb for replicas) with 75% retention policy, which gives about 112.5Gb of space for logs.
