link a new opportunity to an existing lead

Hello, is there function available in C4C to link a newly created opportunity to a lead that existed before creating the opportunity? We routinely have such scenarios despite proactive creation of leads from monitoring relevant market activity. It is common to receive a very specific opportunity and to know it is associated with a market event that should be in our lead database but which the user creating the opp is unable to find perhaps due to a lack of information in the received opportunity. Later he or others in the business realise the connection and so need to establish it in order to have a complete overview of the lead.

I remember that there is a tab at the opportunity named "Related Documents" where you can add a lead or an activity, please check.

Hi Khaled, thanks. I find in opps the function to relate another opp but not to relate opp to lead. In leads I only find the function convert to opp. Nowhere can I find an option to relate a new opp to an existing lead after opp is created.

You can use data workbench to achieve this. Follow below steps for same,

1. Download the document reference template from Data Workbench->Import

2. Update the data as below, in this case ID denotes Lead ID, type_code '64' denotes Lead and Role_Code '1' denotes preceding document.

3. That's it.. 🙂 You're done..
