Is it possible to reset or clean the SMC quality tenant?

Hello Experts

A query, by subject of master data and change of the server or quality tenant of C4C (module with which SMC is currently integrated)

What options do you have to leave the current SMC quality Tenant blank ?, taking into account that all the contacts that have already been migrated from C4C to SMC will no longer be correct.

1.- Can you clean the Marketing Cloud Tenant ?, leaving it without the contacts already migrated, logically without all the interactions, such as campaigns, target groups, etc., only with the configuration.

2- What are the chances of requesting a new quality tenant from SAP? and migrate the configuration to that new Tenant (Option that the project management offers me)

3.- In case point 1 and 2 cannot be done, you can have SMC connected to two C4C, if you can differentiate which contact comes from one C4C server or another?

Thank you

Best regards

Elio C.

Hi eliocentenob,

if you only need the data like contacts, campaigns, target groups, interactions and so on to be deleted, why don't you use the different Marketing Application Jobs?

About the second option I'm not sure if this is possible. Technically SAP has access to the backend and would maybe able to create another client and adapt the transporting and so on, but don't think they will do that. Maybe with additional costs. Hope someone from SAP can clarify.

Regarding point 3, in case of two C4C systems of course you should use different ID Origins to differentiate. So the Inbound Communication is not the problem I think. Outbound is a bit more complex. I think you have to pay attention to the Communication Systems/Arrangements and have to implement the BAdI "Lead Management: Determine Target System Type" in Business Context Marketing: Campaign.

Hope that helps. Maybe someone from SAP can give a hint concerning point 2.

Hi eliocentenob,

if you want to delete the whole contact, you should choose the "Flag Contacts for Deletion" and then the "Delete Flagged Contacts" job. Yes you can select more than one checkbox. If you want to delete more that one contact (for example all of the contacts with the same origin) you only choose the "Origin of Contact" and leave the other fields (Id, Name, and so on) empty. These other fields help to specify a specific contact if you only want to delete one or a few of them.

Note: Always do a test run first! After that you can check if the result (you can check the protocol how many contacts will get deleted if you run the job in production mode) is what you expect.

I'm not aware of a limit, but of course depending on the count it may take some time.

With the "Flag Contact IDs for Deletion" and "Delete Flagged Contact IDs" you can remove a specific Origin from Contacts without deleting the whole Contact. So e.g. if a Contact has Origins SAP_C4C_BUPA, SAP_FORM, and so on, you can choose to remove one of the Origins from the contacts.

Regarding your last point: Maybe the system will say you have to delete campaigns first before you can delete some target groups if they are still assigned to a campaign. So if there's a depencency and something cannot be deleted the system will inform you in the protocol (again do a test run here before).

Concerning the other points as the colleagues said you have to raise an incident.

Hi schneidert

If I know the Jobs to delete campaigns and target groups, but is there any to delete contacts in bulk?
I was reviewing in the Jobs, and I see that there is one, but not if it is the correct one.

Which fields are mandatory and how much is the maximum that can be deleted by jobs? the unirverse to erase is about 3 million.

Is there an order ?, would you understand that yes, first delete campaigns, target groups, segmentation models and then contacts, is it not necessary?
