Is it possible to hide empty/irrelevant product categories in product selection of a lead?

Hi all,

For one of our customers we are implementing leads for a new sales organization B. We have a lot of products in the system from another sales organization (which are not relevant for organization B). It is possible to fill the sales data for Sales organization A in product administration, so the products are not visible anymore for sales organization B, when making a selection with ''add from all products'' in a lead. This works for products, but unfortunately not for product categories: Currently we have a total of 688 product categories of which most are irrelevant for organization B. Is it somehow possible to hide irrelevant product categories for a specific sales organization?

First of all, thanks for your answer!

Actually it's not the problem I face. The products are not visible due to assignment to another sales organization, which is the right behaviour. However product categories are still shown when they have no products in it.

Lets say I have product category 77 with 3 products. Those products are assigned to sales organization A and C. When I log in with a user from organization B, I do not want to see product category 77, because it has no products in it.

Product category 77

Product 1 (Assigned to salesorg A)

Product 2 (Assigned to salesorg A)

Product 3 (Assigned to salesorg C)

teunvandenelzenacorel : I have verified further and could see that Product Categories is not controlled based on the sales data.
Product category is a generalization grouping , given to a group of products which can be sold in different sales areas.
This means , that One category can have multiple products that may belong to different sales areas

Example : Mobile is a category and various mobile types are products that can be grouped under this

so restrictions are only imposed on products but not on product catgeiores and , if you dont have access to that products in a catgory , the category will still be shown, with no products in it.
