As per the official list of compatible third parties with Hybris 6.6 , it says that 6.6 is compatible with Tomcat 7. You can try with a higher version of tomcat, but that would be something treated as a "customization" that you have done over Hybris. You will have to check for the compatibility issues and fix it. Still, I would suggest you to open a support ticket with SAP and let us see what's their take on this.
