Interaction Types - Marketing Cloud

Hello,

Can we create a new interaction type "IA_TYPE - Interaction Types" other than the standard provided by SAP Marketing Cloud?

I know SAP has provided a lot of interaction type as standard but if we need to create our own can we do it?

Hi Sahi,

yes, you can create your own Interaction Types using Manage Your Solution app.

Here go to Configure Your Solution, search for the Application Area/Sub Application Area "Marketing" and the Item Name "Contacts and Profiles" and go to point 7. Manage Interaction Content. Here you can define new Interaction Channels, Communication Media and Interaction Types.

You can also use that URL: https://my123456.s4hana.ondemand.com/ui#MarketingInteraction-manage with your own tenant ID.

Dear schneidert ,

it seems it is only possible to create new interaction types. Is it also possible to delete already created? I didn´t find any setting, I only can add and deactivate new assignments for interaction types.

Maybe you know how to delete interaction types.

no, you can't delete created interaction types. The same applies to all customizing settings.

Thank you for your answer. when I can search "Interaction" , I found "Browse Interaction Data" and "Interaction Descriptions". But I reached that url: https://my123456.s4hana.ondemand.com/ui#MarketingInteraction-manage . What I don't understand, Q and P systems has same data in that URL. But "Interaction Descriptions" is empty in P systems. Should I maintain directly P system. Could you explain that issue.

sorry I think I don't understand which issue you're facing.

What do you mean with "Interaction Descriptions"?

Browse Interaction Data is an app where you can search for interactions in your system.

The URL provided by you is the one that leads to the customizing step where you can manage the interaction types that are available in your system. These have to be maintained in Q system and have to be transported to P system.

So, where do you see empty descriptions?

Do you maybe have a screenshot?

The interaction types are the same in both systems. (https://my123456.s4hana.ondemand.com/ui#MarketingInteraction-manage). But as you can see my share screenshot, P system hasn't any "interaction descriptions" except for my create manuel by above button.

In my opinion, should I create description for all interaction type one by one?

omeryildirim sorry, I'm a little bit confused. I never seen that app for "Interaction Description" which you are using on your screenshot. How did you get there?

Usually you maintain a description for an interaction type on Q system in customizing (in every language that you need) and transport it to P system. Then you have the same descriptions in both systems.

I don't see that application in the Extensibility group in my systems. For me it seems like this is something custom made (custom tile, custom application). Also in your screenshot before, the URL includes a part ...YY1_INTERACTIONDESCRIPTION... and YY1 is always a hint for something that has been created by customer.

So, it will be pretty hard for me to say what this application is used for in your case and how to use it. Sorry 😕

If you can elaborate a little bit more on what you are trying to achieve, I can maybe help you out.
