improvement of Solr full indexing query

In OOTB Solr full indexing query which takes all the products irrespective of catalog version, In our case, we have the huge number of products to index. If we index only online version of products which could be improved indexing time and performance, but I am curious to know what will be impacted if take only online version of products. Why OOTB functionality considered both catalog versions products to indexing?

In Backoffice, you might not be able to get search results for non-Online products. Take note that Backoffice requires Solr search. The older Hybris (like 5.7) didn't have this behavior.
