i want to migrate hybris from 5.6 to 1811 is it possible ? if yes any suggested path or guide line?

Yes. Its always possible. The best approach to upgrade the Hybris platform is go up version by version, each version at a time. In my experience, I can say that you can go from 5.6 to 5.7 and then to 6.0. You'll find major changes in promotion, backoffice module and solr search area. From 6.0, you may directly go to 6.6 and the major change area will be solr search, promotion rule engine, samlsso and smartedit. From 6.6, you may jump to 1808 and then finally to 1811. Please maintain a tracker of the changes or fixes that you implement while upgrading which will help you in the course.

Hi Experts,

I have a query.

We are upgrading Hybris 6.6 to 1811 and we see the solr facet search basically the sort part is not working as like 6.6.

for e.g. we have configured a certain brand should visible on top in PLP but it seems its not working as expected like 6.6 even we have not changed any code or data.

quick help will be appreciated.

yes you can, but you can also upgrade version by version.

Search the experts there are some discussions about advantages/disadvantage of either option. One thing all upgrades have in common. The success and time spend depends heavily on your customizations and data. A upgrade can be extremely challenging and time consuming. Also it is very difficult to plan.

The version by version approach may be better from a risk perspective. If you have a very new shop with almost no customization, little data and no legacy upgrading directly might be faster.

you can upgrade it directly. Just read through each versions upgrade and combine into one activity

Can we migrate directly from 6.5 to 1811 without going through 1808? Currently we are not using data hub.
