Hybris Marketing Cloud - Missing "Assign Custom Fields To Segmentation" App

Dear Experts,

in Hybris Marketing 1709 (on-prem) I can assign created custom fields to segmentation using the app "Assign To Segmentation".

In Hybris Marketing Cloud (1805) I'm missing that app.

In the Extensibility Guide the procedure to assign custom fields to segmentation is still the same.

Has the functionality been moved to another place/another app?

Hope someone can help.

could you confirm Vineets statement that the app is maybe deprecated and fields are now automatically assigned to _SAP_CF datasources without doing something manually?

Or maybe you could check it directly in an 1805 cloud system if the app still exists? That would be really great.

Otherwise I really have to create a ticket.

In HMC 1805; the app is just renamed...You can try looking for "Extensibility" or use "Extensibility and Adaptability for Marketing" app.

Hi jimbotbs,

Can you try the following steps- (This is how I am working on On-Perm system, I will check once again for Cloud edition but will take few days since its a long weekend here). Till then try the below steps.

1. Open the Segmentation Configuration app

2. Segmentation Objects & Attributes

3. Select your profile(see image 'segmentation_object')

4. Click on the '+' icon to add additional object

5. Click on the Search help for Data Source field on the new screen and pop up appears.

5. Search for the _SAP_CF attributes(see image 'Data_sources')

6. Please add these _SAP data sources if not already done(see image 'SAP_Data_sources').

I was using the old method of adding custom fields to segmentation but after upgrading from 1702 to 1709 we had issues with adding fields to segmentation and SAP mentioned that going forward there was no need to use the app as all the fields will be available in the new segmentation configuration app and can be simply switched on & off from there itself.

Hi Vineet,

thanks for the explanation. That's exactly the way I would do.

As you can see on the screenshots below, in my system there's no data source found including "_SAP" or "_CF" that I can assign to the segmentation object.

Also in the "data sources" section of the segmentation configuration there is no corresponding data source found.

It would be really great if you could check it in a cloud system.

Otherwise I have to contact SAP for analysis.

Hi Tobias Schneider,

The custom fields are automatically added into segmentation objects _SAP_CF_Interactions and _SAP_CF_contacts.

You don't need to explicitly add these fields to segmentation. All you now need to do is to goto the Segmentation Configuration App which is the app for making changes to segmentation profile. once you open the app goto Segmetation Objects and Attributes tile.

there choose your segmentation profile which you are using and there in the assigned data sources you should see _SAP% data sources, your fields will be present there automatically and you need to just enable them from there for export, dimension or as an attribute in segmentation.

Note:- If you do not find _SAP% data sources in your profile, you may first need to assign those data sources to your segmentation profile and then follow the above steps.

The add custom fields to segmentation app has now kind off become obsolete.

So if I understand you correctly, I should also find these data sources you mentioned (_SAP_CF....) under "Data Sources" in the segmentation configuration app, right? There I have 72 data sources by default, but not the ones you mentioned, so I can't assign them to the segmentation object I need.

Do you know what to do?

Hi Tobias,

All your custom fields are automatically assigned to _SAP_CF data sources. Can you try to create a custom field of Marketing Interaction Business context and then see if it is visible in the data source. Also, are you using a custom segmentation profile or standard? meanwhile I will try to see what is missing in the cloud setting.

Hi Vineet,

I can't find any data source named _SAP_CF in the Segmentation Configuration.

I'm using the standard segmentation profile "All Contacts" (SAP_CE_CONTACT_SIN), Segmentation Object SAP_CONTACT_ENGAGEMENT_SIN.

I created a custom field of business context MKT_PERSON. It's visible in the contact profile as expected. But I can't find it anywhere in the Segmentation Configuration.

Maybe you can provide some screenshots of the way it works in your system. Would be great.
