Hybris 1811 Smartedit infinite loading once added config for custom smartedit extension

Hi all, I'm installing in my local the b2c accelerator of the Hybris 1811 from zip CXCOMM181100P_6-70004085. I installed that using Installer Recipes, and then I created 5 custom extensions:

• 1 services

• 1 facades

• 1 addonstorefront (I installed this addon on the yacceleratorstorefront template)

• 1 backoffice

• 1 smartedit

Everything seems to be fine until that I add the configuration for the custom smartedit extension in the smartedit. Once I do that, and I go to page preview the page keep and infinite loading without end.

Even if I just install the b2c accelerator from Recipes and the I add just my custom smartedit extension, once I add the new configuration with the keys applications.smartedittraining and applications.smartedittrainingContainer, the preview keep loading and loading.

Did anyone had the same issue and found a solution?

What do you see when you hit the URLs given below?

I just tried with Hybris 1905 and in this case I'm using my custom storefront extension and not an addon, but it is happening exactly the same thing.

I found the solution. When you create the custom smartedit extension, hybris automatically creates the impex essentialdata_smartedittraining.impex with the following content:

 INSERT_UPDATE SmartEditConfiguration; key[unique = true]; value
 ; applications.smartedittraining          ; {"smartEditLocation":"/smartedittraining/smartedittraining/js/smartedittraining.js"}
 ; applications.smartedittrainingContainer ; {"smartEditContainerLocation":"/smartedittraining/smartedittraining/js/smartedittrainingContainer.js"}

This impex is wrong and is wrong also what they say in the hybris wiki (in so many different pages). I checked the path of these js files and it's not /smartedittraining/smartedittraining/js/smartedittraining.js but /smartedittraining/js/smartedittraining.js

Amending that impex I solved the issue. I can close the question.

I think that there is still an issue. Even if the Loading problem is solved, if I check the browser console logs, I can see the error message:

Failed to load application 'smartedittraining' from location https://localhost:9002/smartedittraining/js/smartedittraining.js; SmartEdit functionality may be compromised.

I added a Decorator in my extension and I can't see that working. So I don't really know if there is a mistake on the decorator or if the extension is not really plugged to the smartedit.

You are getting the error as expected because the location is https://127.0.0.1:9002/smartedittraining/smartedittraining/js/smartedittraining.js and not https://localhost:9002/smartedittraining/js/smartedittraining.js. Could you please import the ImpEx with full path and try again?

No it doesn't work as well.

If I put the properties as:

I can see from browser console logs that It is able to find files and get the content. I can just read the following error then:

But the infinite loading doesn't stop.

Make sure the configuration on SmartEdit has just the following,

defaultToolingLanguage: "en"
whiteListedStorefronts: []
applications.<yourextensionname>: { "smartEditLocation": "/<yourextensionname>/<yourextensionname>/js/<yourextensionname>.js"}

Note:

1. Make sure you remove all other configurations, check before you hit the storefront that all the unwanted config has been removed completely
2. You might want to clear the cache on the server that is running smartedit.

I have solved this by removing the abAnalytics files and removing references to it from the <yourextension>smarteditModule.js file.

Hello guys,

i setup Smartedit for the Spartacus frontend and i am facing the same issue. I tried these means, which didnt work:

• Clear browser cache
• USe different browser
• setup a fresh instance
• delete and reinstall node modules

SAP Commerce version is 1905

This seems to be a serious bug regarding smartedit. Would be great if there will be a solution anytime soon.

This is the standard guide that we need to follow, does not solve the issue. Thanks
