How to stop Marketing landing page form messages from showing on load

Hi everyone,

We have created a simple landing page in Marketing Cloud. It has first name, last name, email address linked to the respective contact attributes, a subscription checkbox and a submit button.

When we test the landing page form it renders correctly, but when we download the HTML and open it either directly or by inserting it into a live webpage, after the submit button it instantly shows all of the associated messages as "Fill in all fields correctly.A technical error has occurredThank you for your submission"

Clearly something isn't set up correctly, but everything looks ok at a glance - anybody have any suggestions?

Many thanks for the reply. On closer investigation using Chrome debug tools we think the issue is to do with not having the HTML linked to the CSS - we are trying to resolve this and are confident that this should fix the issue. If we are still having issues I will respond back here. Example is below in any case to illustrate what we mean.
