How to overwrite type definition for SmartEdit?

Dear SAP Community,

we are currently facing an issue in regards to SmartEdit.

We created a new CMS-Component for a "Localized Link Component" that is based (extends) the standard Link-Component for an additional field of a localized URL.

Now we have the problem, that the standard "url" attribute from the Link-Component still shows up in the SmartEdit editor for the component and is validated, which means, it needs to filled to be able to save a Localized Link-Component.

How can it be achieved to overwrite that definition/configuration?

Hi @bliegener 

The standard "url" attribute from the CMSLinkComponent type is optional, meaning it's not mandatory to have a value. Did you customize it from your project? And in case you made it mandatory per project requirement, you can still assign a default value for the url, this way it will not block you from saving the localized version.
