How to make the "Additional External References" field visible in the solution order landing page?

For solution order line items, the customer would like to have the "Additional External References" field to be visible under the "Items" tab in the solution order landing page, similar with those columns like "Product ID", "Product", "Quantity", "Unit" etc.

Below is the reason why they are requiring for this:

They need to create multiple service orders from one solution order. They would like to have those line items with the same "Additional External References" field into one service order.

Regarding the requirement to have the "Additional External References" field to be visible under the "Items" tab in the solution order landing page, this can be realized through extensibility. However, if your root requirement is to "make those line items with the same 'Additional External References' field into one service order", we have to say that currently this is not supported. Please feel free to let us know if you would still like to have the "Additional External References" field visible.

Hi,

We created custom field yy1_situation for manage solution orders app. For getting custom fields visible on UI screen, Adapt UI should be enabled on that page.

But in Manage solution orders screen, Adapt UI is not active. So we are not able to display field in screen.

Hi Rishit,

If you would like to have the custom field under the "Items" tab in the solution order landing page, you need to adapt solution order landing page. Kindly refer to screenshot below.

Hello Dan ,

I am not getting this adapt UI icon as you are getting in page , what should be the reason

Hi Nimmi,

The reason might be missing authorizations. Kindly check and make sure following things:

  1. You're in the test system but not production system.
  2. The business user which you login has business roles ‘SAP_BR_EXTENSIBILITY_SPEC' and ‘SAP_BR_SOLN_ORDER_SPCLST’.

You may also refer to this blog series to get more information on solution order extensibility.

Dear Nimmi,

Please have a look at this page: https://help.sap.com/viewer/4fc8d03390c342da8a60f8ee387bca1a/2202.501/en-US/ef97b2485aa34a8890f4d51e...

Please check with an adminstrator user of the test system you are working in - if he/she has this catalog assigned to his/her role then please have him/her test for adaptation on this app and another app once.

Best Regards,

Pragya

Dear Nimmi,

If the role is not available, please try adding this catalog to one of the roles. which is assigned to the user making these adaptations. You can create a custom role with just this catalog and assign it to the user as an alternative.

Best Regards, Pragya

Hello Dan,

Thanks for quick response , but still here at step 3 I cannot find SAP_BR_EXTENSIBILTY_SPEC role , and second role is already added to my account. What I need to get this role visible for me

Hi Nimmi,

Please try app 'IAM Information System' with your Admin user. You should be able to find those roles in your system by searching role templates ‘SAP_BR_EXTENSIBILITY_SPEC' and ‘SAP_BR_SOLN_ORDER_SPCLST’.

Another way is checking the business roles which are assigned to the business user let's say user A, who you login to process solution order. Assign the business roles to the business user let's say user B, which you login to create the extensibility field. Then the user B has both role ‘SAP_BR_EXTENSIBILITY_SPEC' and ‘SAP_BR_SOLN_ORDER_SPCLST’.
