How to include in a dynamic target group based on location new users from a new country?

Hello,

I need to use dynamic target groups based on the country of the user (the one self-declared by them).

According to the country, I want to send different newsletters with different content.

I have 1 newsletter for Europe without UK, 1 for UK, 1 for North America, 1 for other countries.

How can I create target groups that include all possible countries if I can segment only for the countries of the contacts already in the list?

Is there a way to select all the countries no matter if there is already a contact of this country?

Hi Saravana,

when new contacts enter MC subscribing a form, they are asked their country. That's mapped to a field of the database.

According to the country, they should also enter one of 4 target groups, which may be either Europe (but UK), or UK, or North America, or none of these. Since to create a dynamic target group I need a segmentation model, I have to build it as to include, i.e. for Europe, every single country. But I do I do that? When I choose country as segmentation attribute I get only the list of the countries that have at least one entry.

Possibly there is another way to get what I need, but I don't know it.

Hi Ales,

I tried to check the Country attribute in Segmentation in our internal system and I can even find Country values even if there is no contact assigned to that country , So you should find the country in the F4 help on dragging and dropping the country attribute if I am not wrong , If you have issues with particular country , I would recommend you to create an Incident to SAP to check it in your system to fix your issue.

As shown below , we can select country from Geographical map directly even if contact is not part of that country

or you can drag and drop the country attribute to the segment and there you will find the F4 help with all countries.

I've tried but I have still some troubles.

1) Using the map, you're right, I can select any country by double-clicking it. But how can I do multiple selections? If I want a group made of, say, 10 countries, I can't select them all. Every click I get a new segment made of only that country. How can I select multiple countries? Shall I make 10 segments and then merge it?

2) Using F4, I can make multiple selections. However, here the list of countries is not complete. Some that have not yet a nember appear (for instance, Botswana and Ruanda). Some other don't (for instance, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary)

So, do you know a way to make multiple selections using the map? And do you think it is a bug that with F4 not all the countries are listed? Thank you!

Hi Ales,

Yes , you are right , we are able to select only one country with Map and as you mentioned , we can merge them after the selection as a work around, regarding F4 for missing countries , Please create a ticket to check in your system.

If you want contacts from all countries , there is no need to include a segment with Country filter right , Or is there any restriction you are trying to set at segmentation level with Country?
