How to give shipping discount in Commerce promotions engine?

Hello Experts

I am creating a discount from the SAP Commerce Cloud promotions engine

Specifically, from the Promotion Rules point.

I see that there are already some conditions and actions available to use. but when I want to use one for shipping discounts I don't see the right option.

Just something that says change of delivery mode

The pricing logic in Commerce itself does not have a concept of 'shipping discount', so there is nothing of that description that the Promotion Engine could target. However if you look at the way the system handles delivery costs it has a concept of Zones (geographical/logical region), DeliveryModes, and Zone Delivery Mode - the latter maps Zone/DeliveryMode together into a specific set of costs. Therefore the Change Delivery Mode action allows you to effectively invoke a separate set of shipping costs for a different Delivery Mode - that could be free delivery, or it could be delivery costs that are discounted in some way from the implementation's standard delivery costs. In order to do this you would need to maintain those costs as Zone Delivery Mode items & just select the Delivery Mode via the Promotion Action

Hi Elio,

The one you see change delivery mode is the free shipping action, OOTB we don't have a shipping discount action in the promotion engine. This needs to be customized as part of your project to create a new promotion action.

Please following the Promotion Engine Trail for how to create new actions.
