I believe you need it for migrating your hMCconfigurations to the Backoffice Administration Cockpit and probably you must already be aware of the fact that it was available only till v6.6. The only thing that I would like to add here is a recommendation to migrate your old version of Hybris to v6.6 and then to v1811. This way, you will be able to migrate your hMC to backoffice in v6.6 and then discard hMC and migrate v6.6 to v1811.
