How to display an attribute of a type in backoffice instead of xxxmodel(pk)

We have one to many relation between product and a customType.

In backoffice, if I go to product and try to search for the customTypes in the searchbox, I get list of customType(89898979986847) which are mapped to that product.

But we would like to display one attribute of the customType. How can this be achievable.
