How to create an extension field of text type based on date field with default format

Hi,

I have a reporting requirement to have the opportunity count based on Opportunity Start Date (month /year ) format only and a drill through to the opportunity list view based on the month selected.

Since the "Start date" characteristic available in the standard data source "Opportunity header and item" is DD.MM.YYYY format. The report drill down based on month selected is not able to process the filers due to date format in first view. Need to create an extension field (Not Date format it should be text) based on the date field and assign MM/YYYY format to that extension field. Please advise how to create such an extension field in standard via KUT.

Hi Shruti,

We have a field "year Month" (which is a attribute of characteristic "Start Date") with format "MM.YYYY"

You can add this field in report (created based on Opportunity Header) and then based on this field, you can get the count of opportunities based on selected month.

If this doesn't solve your concern, then help us with more details and we will analyze further.
