How to crate multi-select facets for categories?

Hi,

We have a requirement to create multi-select facets for categories and multi-select for product attributes. As of now its displaying categories in Single-select. If we select any category, the selected category is moving to the selected facet section and the below section displaying its sub-categories.

We need the multi-selection facets for categories something like below.

Can you please anyone help me with this? If the sample code provided will be appreciated.
