11.png33.pngHello C4C expert, our sales team want to link contact with multi addresses link with his account .

standard solution : Under account, we could add multi addresses and set one address as main address

when we new a contract of this account, we can only select one account address as contact address. but it is NOT what we want; our requirements are:

  • when we new a contact, sales team could choose multi address of account ( one contact could have multi addresses )
  • Under contact address tab; sales team could see all added multi addresses link with this contact
  • under account address tab, sales team could see all contacts linked with their addresses
  • contact multi addresses also could be populated in the report

We want to use workround solution to fit this requirement rather than development . could someone give us help ?

Thank you

Hi Xiaohui,

Zooming out from the requirements you described, I advice to reassess your concept of address.

If you see an address as an physical location or office, you migth consider to create single accounts for each different location (address) and use the account hierarchy functionality to identify the parent account (e.g. the headquarters) and the child accounts (the different locations). So when ever you create a location you indicate who the parent account is. In the account record in the tab Account Hierarchy the relationships between these accounts is visualized.

Contact persons can have a contact person relationship with multiple accounts; the headquarter and one or more locations, which is visible on the contact record in the tab Relationships. So you create the contact person relation ships between one contact and the accounts representing the locations (with different addresses) that you have created.

Contracts can be created for the individual accounts (headquarter and locations). When you create a contract you can make it valid for the whole account hierarchy (all accounts included in the hierarchy) by switching on the Include Account Hierarchy indicator In the contract header.
