How not to copy an owner from an account when Opportunity is created in C4C?

Hi C4C expert,

Currently, when we assign an account in C4C Opportunity creation screen, Owner is copied from Account automatically. We want to stop it and make the Owner field empty and an creator of Opportunity will select an owner not depeding on the owner of account.

Once Opportunity is created, if an user change an account, we doesn't want to copy the owner from the changed account too. Would you please help me know how to do these?

Hi Joseph,

You can adjust the settings in Fine Tuning to suit your requirement. Navigate to Business Configuration -> Implementation Project -> Open Activity List. Find the configuration settings for Opportunities -> Maintain Involved Parties.

Once you have it open, select the line for Owner and then click on Maintain Determinations

By Default, usually the Owner is taken as Employee responsible for Account team which is the system behaviour you are seeing. You can deselect the determinations you do not want. It sounds like the determination you want is Current User. If so deselect the other ones and leave the last option for Current User selected. Save your configuration settings and the determination logic will change for any future opportunities you create.
