How do you lock some of the Reusable Blocks in Content Studio

Hi Experts,

We are working on SAP Marketing Cloud. We have created the following reusable blocks for them: email headers and footers, easy Opt-Out/Unsubscribe links, different product layouts.

We received a requirement to lock some of the Reusable blocks (the email header and footer) to ensure users can not change this (read-only, add to emails, not edit). They, however, do not want this functionality for all the reusable blocks. This is required in the content studio when they are adding a reusable block to an email. We could not find anything that indicated this could be done easily. Please advise if this could be done?

NB. We do not want to restrict the Business role of the Marketing Expert by removing the COntent studio business catalogue or using the Marketing Areas/ COuntry to restrict the role with either writing/reading functionality.

Dear Shaun,

That's not possible to do, because if you change the restriction in a business role, you can, but you don't want to do that. From UI level, we cannot restrict or provide a mechanism to restrict the content!

If your business case is strong, submit your idea of improvement to SAP Marketing Cloud so that your idea could be evaluated there.

Thank you for the response. Can we restrict specific Reusable blocks through the use of business roles? We do not want to restrict the Content studio for the Marketing Experts, only the writing capability for header and footer blocks.

I understand, but it's not possible as well!!

Submit your idea of improvement to SAP Marketing Cloud for evaluation.
