Dear Emarsys Data Import Experts,
Accidentally, I have imported the wrong contact list. How can I revert this action and remove the imported contacts from my account?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Kind regards,
Marcell
Request clarification before answering.
This depends on the type of import - if you are importing new contacts or updating existing contacts.
1. If new contacts were imported and saved as a contact list
Go to Contacts -> Delete Contacts and delete your list from there. It might take a bit of time depending on the list size, but it'll clean up your database. If you didn't save your import as a contact list, you can still find contacts who signed up today by creating a segment with the condition "Date of First Registration is today", saving it as a contact list, and following the above steps to remove it.
Note that this segment might also include contacts who were added from other sources aside from this import.
2. If you imported contact updates
Unfortunately, there's easy way to undo them. If you caught the error before the import started or it didn't go too far, you can abort the import from the import page. If it did finish import, you will need to contact Emarsys Support for help.
