Guest User Creation and email ID change in account/profile page

Hi Experts,

I've two questions:-

1. When a guest user is created in Hybris, Hybris stores the generated UUID as the user's password.

2. When a customer tries to change his/her email ID from account/profile page, it asks for the current/old password and Hybris uses this password to validate the customer as well as saves that password.

Does anyone why is it implemented like this? What would happen if I override the methods and instead of storing UUID for guest customer I pass null and skip saving the password in the second case?

Please let me know if you have encountered this and the resolution for this.
