Dear Experts,
when I create a form in SAP Marketing Cloud and use an input field like "title" for example, I can define whether that field has to be mandatory or not.
Also on the left side under Data Mapping I can define whether it should show a default value or not.
When I say "No default value" but make the field mandatory it still shows the first possible value of the dropdown when I test the form or use it in a Landing Page:

This is not the behavior that we want or expect.
Is it possible to mark the field as mandatory but use NO default value?

Hi Tobias,
As far as I can see it is indeed system behavior. Unfortunately this does not work as it seems to work.
I understand that you do not want the default: ''Abteilungsleiter'' , as it blurs data quality.
A workaround solution for this is to use the placeholder field to fill the dropdown menu with a text like: job title, or please select etc.
In this case a default option is chosen that is not automatically accepted by the system, so the user is triggered to fill the field correctly! See the screenshots below for an example.

Hi teunvandenelzenacorel,
thanks for verification and for your workaround-idea. Maybe we have to work with that until SAP will provide a better solution.
I opened an improvement request.
Kind regards
Tobias
