Hello Experts;
We have integration between R3 and Marketing Cloud. We are planning to take orders from R3 to Marketing. However, we are facing an error that is "Fault: Illegal character entity: expansion character"-"Illegal character entity: expansion character (code 0x13)". So most probably data has special characters such as &# that is why we are taking the below error message on CPI. When we looked at Payload, we left special characters on payload, then we run payload and we did not get an error massage. There is integration and data is going to keep coming from R3 to Marketing so how we can solve this issue? What kind of change do we need? What we can do on R3? I checked many SAP notes, but they did not solve our issue, hoping for your feedback.

Hi oguzhan1710
you have to escape the special characters
see e.g.

Dear Oguzhan,
As per my understanding you might face this issue when you include few characters (< , > , &, ", ') which need to be escaped in the XML because they are used by XML itself.
I am not sure if you can perform some validation checks either in your source system ( R3 ) before sending it to CPI or you have some options to validate in CPI itself , may be Cloud Integration Colleagues can provide further inputs on this scenario.

Saravana.
