false unsubscribe in trigger campaign - welcome mailing

Hello,

I have a trigger campaign that sends a welcome mail after the newsletter registration. When I click on the unsubscribe link in the welcome mail, I get a permission opt-out on my contact and not a subscription opt-out.

Where can I have adjusted a setting incorrectly?

With my other newsletter in the same marketing area the link works fine and I only receive the unsubscribe for the newsletter.

Or could there be problems because I have 2 subscriptions in one Marketing Area?

Actually I have all settings identical to the working welcome mail and I have also entered the appropriate communication category in the mail.

Thanks for tips.

Best regards,

Lisa

Hi Lisa,

it sounds like you used the wrong Link Type in the email in Content Studio.

Make sure that you used "Easy Unsubscribe" instead of "Easy Opt-Out" for the Link in your email.

Hey Tobias,

I have checked this and I am using the correct unsubscribe link (Easy Unsubscribe) in the email.

Hi lisa_w,

did you also maintain the communication category in the triggerbased campaign?

If it is maintained as well in the link as in the email settings and in the campaign, I don't know where this issue is originating from and would have to analyze in detail...

Hey Tobias,

I cannot maintain a communication category in the campaign.

Hi lisa_w,

you can add that field using Adapt UI functionality. I never used it in trigger-based campaigns myself. But in automated (email) campaigns this field is responsible for making the unsubscribe for the communication category work.

So I would try to add it and provide the communication category there.

Let me know if it works, I'm very interested in.

Hey Tobias,

I did not even think about the UI adaptation.

Thanks, that was a good tip. I tried it and now it works perfectly.

Strange that it works for the other campaign even without the communication category in the trigger campaign.

Thanks for your help.

Hi lisa_w,

yes, that's what I'm also wondering about. Maybe it takes a "default" one... So to make sure that it always uses the right Communication Category I would also use that field in your other triggerbased campaign.

Glad to hear that it works 🙂
