Dear experts,
Our customer has imported the event interactions in both sales cloud and marketing cloud. But some participants are shown as “anonymous” in attended status in marketing cloud.
I have checked the specific contacts and organizations detail are correctly stored in both platforms, but why are they not showing the contact name and email in the marketing event details?
can anyone advise the cause and solution? Does this anonymous participants still be able to be targeted for email campaigns?
Request clarification before answering.
Hi,
could you maybe explain the procedure a little bit further?
How are the interactions imported (OData or File Import)? Did the corresponding contacts exist in the system before?
Could you maybe share some screenshots or parts of your imported data (without personal data of course).

Hi,
Interactions are imported using the standard template excel file. The contacts are new to system. Over 100 contacts and interactions are being uploaded via 2 templates and there are 8 contacts showed as “anonymous” participant in marketing event details at last.
Although I would like to share a screenshot for reference, currently the “anonymous” participants suddenly shows their name & email correctly in marketing event details.
But I still have no clue on why some contacts are initially shown as “anonymous” participants?
Perhaps do you have any idea or possibility on this issue? Does the contact show “anonymous” by default until some verification is done in marketing cloud before the information is shown in event details?
Hi Wind,
Some additional information. Normally when identify-relavant origin is assigned to an anonymous contact, it becomes not anonymous.
Best regards,
Jayce
