Event confirmation with MS outlook calendar entry (ics file)

Dear SAP community,

we have several campaigns regarding event registrations. When a potential customer signs up for an upcoming event, he receives a e-mail with explicit event participation confirmation afterwards. To strenghten the comfort of the potential customers we want to add a ics file for outlook calendar within that particular event confirmation e-mail.

The SAP is doing the same within their e-mails for event registration, see attachted picture.

Is that possible?

As far as I know SAP is using SAP Marketing Cloud, so I'm very curious to see how it works.

AFAIK, SAP use SMC for most of the campaign but not all and specially in case of ON24 it is a entirely different pltform. Hence you see attachment file.

Hi,

Currently, it is not possible to attach a file within the content studio. You need to host a file in an external server and then append the server file URL within the studio to let your customer download the .ics file.

What you have shown, in the image, is an email from the ON24 platform which is not using SAP Marketing Cloud to send out the emails. Hence you see a file download option 🙂

Yes this is possible with standard "Insert Link" feature as shown.

You can just host the page/file outside of your marketing sytsem and then embed the URL within content studio.
