Error Adding a Custom Field to Segmentation - Data Source Alias does not exist for application ID...

Hello everyone.

We are working with SAP Marketing on Prem - 1809.

I have created a Custom Field and published it. (type Text, Busines Context Marketing:Contact)

When I go to the App "Add Custom Fields to Segmentation" I try to create an assignment and add the custom field to it. I choose the Custom Field, set it to visible and then try to save it.

While saving, this error appears:

I have gone to the Segmentation Configuration app to check whether we have this Data Source, however it is not there.

I have tried adding the Data Source (just to test, because of course we need a location within Hana to link it with), however I am not allowed to add one:

We have also tried going into Hana to see if there is a view or table that would be related with the following keywords, but we were unable to find it:

- SAP_CF_SAP_CE_IC_CONTACT

- SAP_CF_CONTACT

- SAP_CF*...

Has anyone had a similar problem, would appreciate any help?

Is there something I am missing here?

Just one more thing to add,

I used a CSV upload to try and fill out the custom field.

I can't seem to add the custom field to the profile.

Nevertheless, I was using Postman to see if the custom field gets filled up. As you can see from the screenshot below, the ZZ1_TestCustomField_MPS I created is getting filled up with values:

Hello miodrag_cupic,

before you open a ticket, can you check two things:

- Create a "Customizing Request" and assign it to your user, or to all testers who are going to use the applications "Add Custom Fields to Segmentation" or "Add CBO to Segmentation"

- Launch Transaction SM30, open VV_GSEG_MD_OP_TR_ADT. Add an entry for all the users with the corresponding Customizing Request (In case the user exists, replace the Customizing Request with the latest one).

Please republish the custom field. You should be able to see the field in Contact Profile.

Hello anton.peters and tim.nusch ,

Thank you for your help, it is working now. I have followed Tim's instructions. I can now assign Custom Fields to Segmentation Profiles.

I can't seem to add the custom field to the Contact's profile. (Or should I maybe open a different post for this one?)

I have enabled it in the UI of the Contact Profile, but cannot seem to add it under the personal data tab.

any idea on the seg field assignment problem?

Looks good to me, I personally would create a ticket. What do you think?
