Embedding External Content - Use Cases

Morning all,

Just wondered if anyone had some interesting use cases for the embedding of external content which was introduced in the 2005 release for SMC. For clarity, I am referring to page 24 of the slide deck.

Hi Bradley,

I would like to add that the external content must allowed to be embedded to an iFrame. Some customers embed generated UI from custom business objects, however, this not recommended by SAP in general, due to the fact that the app header is still shown. It looks as an app embedded to another app. Other use case include the embedding of web apps that you cane develop using SAP Cloud Platform for example. The beauty of the feature is that you have access to the context of the app in which you embed. For example, you can pass parameters, like for example the campaign ID, if you are in the Campaigns app. This could be used by the external content to pull the right data that is linked to this campaign, provided that the content is built in such a way. Hello bradnmursell,

Embedding the external content allows you to either embed a app/video/map or any other content.

This helps the marketing user to navigate to any of content directly from the page they are accessing. Specific use cases are seen mainly of Company Videos and Map Address.
