Emarsys Questions

Hello- would please help me answer these questions for one of our customers? Thank you!

  • Which, of all of the out-of-the-box campaigns, have the quickest ROI?
  • Which ones have the best long-term ROI?
  • What Emarsys has out-of-the-box to support a loyalty program (Loyalty Add-On). How would this plug into our existing compensation model?
  • Does it allow us to publish rules around what loyalty is?
  • How does it plug in to SAP Commerce to allow customers to redeem rewards that are part of the loyalty program?
  • What support is there in the platform to communicate through WhatsApp, WeChat, Facebook Messenger, LINE, and KKTalk?
  • If this is not in the platform, is it on the roadmap?
  • What is the integration from Emarsys back into the SAP Commerce cart?
    • What additional work will it take on the SAP Commerce team to enable this backward flow of information into enhancing the customer shopping experience?
  • Are there other communication channels outside of e-mail, SMS, push notification, direct social media messages that we would be able to leverage?
    • Does Emarsys drive Google Ads and Facebook Ads based on user behavior?
    • What additional configuration / setup does this require?

    Hi garrett.calvo - and here are the answers regarding the SAP Commerce Cloud integration:

    The integration is currently only one-way - from SAP CC to Emarsys, so that you can use behavior data from SAP to trigger and personalize emails and other messages in Emarsys. There is no data flow in the other direction. The most you can do is add web recommender widgets to your store front, which are populated by data from Web Extend, but that data is based on the visitor behavior, so it's not exactly 'Emarsys' data.

    However, we do have a new feature in our Spring Release - the Webhook node for the Automation Center. This node allows you to send a JSON data package outside Emarsys and could well be a viable solution, depending on their exact use case.

    Hi garrett.calvo, I have Loyalty answers for you:

    Yes, you can define following rules:

    • How many points are earned for each currency unit
    • Then you can define for one or more Brands or Categories different earning rules. For example: for T-shirts you get 2 points per euro spent but purchasing trousers will earn you 3 points per euro spent.
    • Additionally, you can create ad hoc promotions for specific products where the user can earn double points or a fixed amount of points

    What to do with points:

    • The user can exchange his points for vouchers, which can represent a discount or even a free product (Voucher codes need to be provided and managed by the client)
    • User can use their points as a payment method at checkout. For this the client needs to use loyalty’s API.

    I'll get back to you with the answers for SAP Commerce Cloud when I have them.

    shefali.sharma1 - I will get back to you with answers around the Tactics and the Emarsys/SAP Commerce Cloud integration. Otherwise here are some details for the rest:

    • What Emarsys has out-of-the-box to support a loyalty program (Loyalty Add-On). How would this plug into our existing compensation model?
      ANSWER:
      • We have 9 Tactics specially designed for Loyalty: https://help.emarsys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011996577-Loyalty-and-Tactics
      • Sap Commerce Cloud voucher codes need to be upload into the loyalty add on, and then using our loyalty wallet (JS overlay, which need to be implemented on the website), the user can redeem his points for a voucher which he can then use on the website, by copying and pasting code into the checkout. You can read more here and here.
    • What support is there in the platform to communicate through WhatsApp, WeChat, Facebook Messenger, LINE, and KKTalk?
      ANSWER: A chatbot channel is in the pipeline. If you'd like to know more, I'd suggest to sign up for the Continuous Influence program.
    • Are there other communication channels outside of e-mail, SMS, push notification, direct social media messages that we would be able to leverage?
      ANSWER: Yes! They are missing two of our best new channels – Web Channel (for messages in your own website) and Web Push (for messages in your customers’ web browsers). We also have Direct Mail.
    • Does Emarsys drive Google Ads and Facebook Ads based on user behavior?
      ANSWER: Yes!
    • What additional configuration / setup does this require?
      ANSWER: Assuming that they have CRM Ads up and running (if not, look here) you need to use the Automation Center and use the CRM Ads node to add and remove users based on their behavior. More details here.

    Thanks Will. I have heard back from Kyani on what they mean around Loyalty. Here is the additional information--

    • Does it allow us to publish rules around what loyalty is?
    • With this, we are trying to determine what this program looks like. Our competitors have their loyalty programs defined as earning points for product purchases and being able to use those for free products. Does Emarsys have anything to do with a loyalty program like this or is this completely something that would have to be managed / programmed into SAP Commerce?
    • What is the integration from Emarsys back into the SAP Commerce cart?
    • What additional work will it take on the SAP Commerce team to enable this backward flow of information into enhancing the customer shopping experience?
