Hi!

I would like to modify the basic data of a contact that I have already created, for example, the contact name or email. But but I'm only allowed to edit the additional data. Contact, marketing areas and commnunication cannot be modified. With UI adaptation is also not possible. How could I made these fields editable?Thank you in advance.

Hi Lourdes.

You are not able to edit BASIC DATA directly in SAP Marketing Cloud Contacts app (it is not a master data system).

Basic data changes should be done via OData API or Import Data app.

Hi Lourdes,

on your contact; go to tab "origin data",

top right of this screen there's a little icon, if you press it you can see "edit contact locally".

You can edit first name, last name, e-mail address, phone number, address.

Hi Joyca,

I needed to change the Email ID of a contact , and did the steps you mentioned. After clicking on Edit and entering the First and Last Name and the new Email ID and click save, I get error:

Only One ID (EMAIL: bdmackb@testing1.com' or EMAIL- bmack@tester.com') may occur for origin 'EMAIL'.

The contact has been loaded in Cloud system through CSV upload where the Origin has been maintained as SAP_FILE_IMPORT.

Hope you would be able to help me on this.

hmm, I'm afraid not.

What the button actually does is adding an Origin "SAP_MANUAL" with new data, and this origin has a very important priority so would get priority above other sources.

However if your EMAIL origin is configured that it's not allowed to have more than one E-mail per person, then it seems according to your error that you can't use the button on the Origin data to change an e-mail... I didn't know that as for me the E-mail is configured that more than one is allowed. It's strange though that instead of setting the old mail facet to invalid and adding this new facet; that an error is thrown... an expert from SAP should need to answer this if this is expected behavior or not...
