Hi Team,

This might be silly question to ask but do I have to install checkout on server? I believe it is being standalone system it is not necessary to do that. But then Do I have to setup and integrate it on every client machine/tablet?

Asking this because setup and integration points remain same but just POS id is changed which needs to be maintained in checkout manager.

I am using checkout manager central management and SBO as integration point.

Hi Gunjan,

SAP Customer Checkout should be installed on the local POS Systems and not on a Server. Depending on the number of POS Terminals there are different possibilities to configure the POS.

If you have only a few POS, you can install SAP Customer Checkout on one POS Terminal, configure it and export the configuration. On the 2nd POS Terminal you can do the installation of SAP Customer Checkout and perform the initial Configuration, afterwards you can import the configuration file. Some settings have to be edited manually (e.g. ID of SAP Customer Checkout to avoid the creation of receipts with the same ID,..). Also the Command Line Tool (see SAP Customer Checkout Administration and Operations Guide, can be found in the installation share of SAP Customer Checkout) can be used.

If you have a lot of POS Terminals, you can install and configure one SAP Customer Checkout on a Terminal and ask your Hardware Provider to create an image which can be installed on the other POS, afterwards you have to perform the above mentioned changes. (Cashdesk-ID,..)

Long term it is planned to have something like a central configuration, maybe in the SAP Customer Checkout manager, but when it will come is not confirmed yet.

hope that helps, please confirm the answer if your question is answered.

kind regards

Stephan
