Disable manual contact creation

Dear Experts,

is it possible to disable the manual creation of contacts in SAP Marketing Cloud within the "Contacts" app?

The user should still be able to edit the Additional Data in the Personal Data tab of the Contact.

As mentioned in below document

Edit Restrictions for the Contact Profile

you can set write access to No access to the respective Business catalog for Contacts but I doubt you can edit the Additional Data with no write access.

Hi all,

it works. But the catalogs mentioned in the guide are not enough to get the expected result.

Marketing Expert role has some more catalogs that have to be removed from the standard role and be assigned to the newly created role without write access. These are:

SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_API_IC4_PC

SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_TST_LPG_PC

Took a lot of time to try and find the correct catalogs (did not expect that the "Landing Page testmode" influences the manual contact creation), so maybe that information will help other guys to save time 🙂

Hi saravana92,

still does not work as expected. I already removed these catalogs from the Marketing Expert Role and packed them into a separate role without write access:

SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_API_IC4_PC

SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_DMB2_PC

SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_DMS_PC

SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_ECA_PC

SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_ICA_PC

SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_LIB1_PC

SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_TST_LPG_PC

The following roles are still assigned to Marketing Expert role with write access:

The users still have the option to manually create contacts in the Contacts app.

Do you know which catalog additionally has to be removed from the list above to prevent users to create Contacts?

Can you also restrict below catalog with only Read access
