Different restrictions on different catalogs in same business role in SAP Marketing Cloud

Hi Experts,

I am in 1908 creating business roles from templates . I can select individual catalogs and click on maintain restrictions . I selected one catalog and maintained restrictions for that . But when i selected one more catalog and clicked on the maintain restrictions , I could see the same that i maintained for the other catalog .

Is there any way i can maintain restrictions based on catalogs not on the global level (business roles) in sap marketing cloud.

Hi Rashmi,

I totally agree that it would be much better to have the option to control the authorizations/restrictions on a more granular level.

But I think at the moment the option you described is the only workaround to achieve what you're trying to do.

Let me know if you found any other way.

I have a scenario where i have to give read access for some catalogs and unrestricted access to some . SAP has given standard templated where i can copy and create roles . There is a option where i can select one particular catalog and click on maintain restrictions . But after applying restrictions if i am going to different catalog and I am seeing same restrictions !!

Its really painful to create custom business roles and add the catalogs

Possible solution is - create one read role and one write/unrestricted role and assign !!!

But i don't want to go by this route ... Any idea on this !!

Rashmi, totally understand your scenario, but that's what is possible for now.

The Maintain Business User/Role/Catalog is handled by different expert area (BC-SRV-APS-IAM), we just use it.

Is there any way so that we can control the App access as catalog provides access to all App . In any real business scenario this is highly possible that , they will only ask access to certain Apps not all !!
