Details about Permission for Facebook & Google

Hello, everybody,

can someone explain to me in more detail why a customer gives permission for Facebook and Google Ads?

So what does he approve and what happens to the data? It also doesn't explain how this process works.

The SAP documentation doesn't give that much.

Best regards

Lisa

Hi Lisa,

In addition to the authentication process Kunal described, the marketing permissions of the contact are checked when we send a target group to Facebook or Google to create an audience list.

You need to ensure your contacts provide their consent to share their data with third parties, and therefore need to ensure you capture the appropriate permissions to send their data to Facebook and Google.

Jenn

Dear Lisa,

As per my understanding-

  1. Google uses OAuth 2.0 to authenticate incoming requests, which are generated based on the Google authorization code granted to manager account or MCC in Google Ads.
  2. For ADs on Facebook, you need a FB ad account and a user that has been assigned either the Ad Account Admin or Ad Account Advertiser permissions for at least one ad account on Facebook.
  3. So, basically, we are only taking permission for sending ad requests and receiving interactions.

Best Regards,

Kunal
