I have created a custom field with values and I can't delete it.
The field is not included anywhere and all the visibilities are turned off. I can't find the source of the error message and don't know how to solve it.
Here is the error message:
The selected fields cannot be deleted due to the following existing usages. Please remove the usages and try again.

Hi all,
Unfortunately we have a gap currently for custom fields in the marketing-related business contexts of type "Code List". For these fields there is a value help view generated automatically when the field is generated. But for the checks before deleting a custom field, the view is not ignored, hence it is blocking the custom field deletion. As the view is generated automatically, there is no way to delete the view from customer side.
If you need to get such fields deleted before the 2111 upgrades, please create a support ticket on component CEC-MKT-EXT-CFS and ask for deleting the fields you need to get deleted.
We plan to fix this with the 2111 release upgrades (a Hotfix is unfortunately not possible).
Thanks & regards,
Sebastian

Hi Lisa,
if you already disabled it everywhere and it is also not used in Segmentation, I would suggest to open an incident. I remember I had a similar issue a while ago where the deleted fields were not removed from the generated data source for some reason. SAP Support triggered a re-generation and after that everything worked fine again.
So maybe it is a similar issue in your case.

Thanks for the info. I am looking forward to seeing what the outcome is.
I have now created a support incident.

Dear Lisa,
As mentioned by Tobias, it seems to be a general issue. We also have open incidents for this error message. I have asked for explanation on why this is occurring and if there will be a fix in the future in one of the open incidents. I'll keep you posted on SAP's reponse.
Kind regards,
Jef Op de Beeck
