Hi,
We are using two different number ranges in ERP based on Account Group. In ERP, If account group of customer equals to 1000 customer gets the number range "10000*", if account group of customer equals to 2000 customer gets the number range "20000*".
When i create an account in C4C and replicate it to ERP, system defines external ID of the account "700*". Our customer does not want this behaviour so we want to define external ID in C4C same as in ERP.
To be more clear, i have added a custom dropdown list field in account header with values 1000 and 2000 in C4C and named it "Account Group" and mapped it to ERP "KTOKD". When user selects 1000 from this field, i want external ID to get the number range "10000*" or user selects 2000 from this field, i want external ID to get the number range "20000*".
Please assist me if this is possible.
Thanks.

I have written an web service and i change the external number in C4C as soon as customer is created in ERP side.

I might be completely off the charts but scenario seems intersting.
What I understood.
1. Create a customer in C4C.
2. Replicate the same in ERP wiith Desired NUMBER Range!
Cant you use ID Mapping Webservice to change the External ID in C4C?

Dear Gsoy,
Manipulating the externalid in C4C while creation of customers isnt supported yet. Even with PDI the relevant fields are not write enabled.
As generation of externalid is absolute necessary for erp integration to work, more information can be found in this KBA, but in C4C we do not have concept of account groups, hence only one range can be used at a time.
May be you can post this in our Influence Forums as new requirement.
