Customizing Autosuggestion to show variant products instead of base products only

Hi ,

I have a requirement for autosuggestion in search box. For any matching text in search box currently shows base product instead of variant product instead the search text matches variant product still only base product is shown. How can we customize to show base product.

For ex

search text 'aa' matches product A ( which is a variant product) but autosuggestion currently shows only product B which is base product for variant product A.

How can we customize it to show variant product A.
