Regarding Magento Integration with Emarsys:

1. Creation or merging of existing contacts: when enabling customers in Emarsys:

   1. Will new contacts be created for users who are already in our database, or will their information be merged? For example, if there is already a contact "X" in our Emarsys database and this user registers on our website, will a new contact for "X" be created, or will the new information be integrated with the existing contact?

   2. If a "merge" occurs, what would be the unification criteria? Would it be based on the email address, CustomerID, or another identifier?
      
      
2. Additional cost for anonymous contacts:
   Regarding the creation of anonymous contacts when enabling customers from Magento, would these contacts incur an additional cost in the Emarsys license?

Answering your questions:

1. Creation or merging of existing contacts: when enabling customers in Emarsys:

   1. Will new contacts be created for users who are already in our database, or will their information be merged? For example, if there is already a contact "X" in our Emarsys database and this user registers on our website, will a new contact for "X" be created, or will the new information be integrated with the existing contact?
      
      Answer: The contacts will be merged.

   2. If a "merge" occurs, what would be the unification criteria? Would it be based on the email address, CustomerID, or another identifier?
      
      Answer: According to the explanation at this SAP Help document, the merge for Magento/Adobe Commerce contacts will always be done based on email field.
      
      
2. Additional cost for anonymous contacts:
   Regarding the creation of anonymous contacts when enabling customers from Magento, would these contacts incur an additional cost in the Emarsys license?
   
   Answer: These contacts will be counted as normal contacts on your Emarsys account as part of your database. If the contacts are sent from your online store to Emarsys, they will be counted as a contact record even if not all personal data is available.
