Copy of first implementation from test to production tenant

Hello All,

We have a test tenant and we were performing the scoping and configurations in test tenant so far. As part of the preparation to go live, we have requested for a creation of production tenant with the option 'Initial system' with an idea to copy the solution profile of first implementation from test tenant to production later because we still had some final changes to be done in the configuration.

However when we are trying to copy the solution profile of first implementation from test to production, it throws us an error: 'You must log on to the productive system to perform this operation' . I understand now from few SAP notes that a solution profile cannot be copied from test to production. Doing all the scoping and configuration from the scratch again in production tenant is out of question.

So what are the options do we have now?

Hello Sandesh,

you can contact sap via incident to raise a new request for production system with solution profile copy option.

A customer dose not have a quick option to copy solution profiles across his various systems. The options a customer has is to request a new system (test/production) with various options in which copy solution profile is one option.

Indeed later I had to raise an incident with SAP to terminate the production tenant created so that I could request for a fresh production tenant with the option 'Initial system with solution profile copy'

Hello Sandesh,

In this case, you have to terminate the existing production tenant and order the new production tenant in place of that as the solution profile copy is only possible two scenario's i.e. test to test and production to test tenants.

Further you can refer the KBA: 2490198 - Error Message: “You must log on to the productive system to perform this operation” While ...
